I’ve had “Humble and Kind” by Tim McGraw playing on repeat on my iPhone for the last week. When we were dating, my husband swore he would never love country music. Hated it. Made fun of it. But, us Idaho girls have a way with turning unwilling hearts toward country music, and now it’s basically all that plays in our house. I promise it’s not forced; the hubs really loves it. Anyway–back to Tim. His new song has such a wonderful message and it’s really had me thinking about how I want to raise my sons. And what better reminder of those principles than a fab printable? I whipped up this pretty little thing and thought I’d share it with you, too. You can download it here.
Also, if you’re here for the gold foil secret, you’re in the right place! Almost every time I sell a printable in my Etsy shop that has gold foil in it, I’m asked “how do I print this so the gold actually looks gold?” (without spending tons of money of course!) When you print gold on your home printer, it looks kind of yellowy because unless you have an amazing printer, the shimmer just doesn’t come through. It looks flat and sort of like mustard. BUT–I have this super top secret and incredibly cheap fix! Print it like a photo! Just save your printable as a .jpg, and send it off to Costco or Shutterfly or wherever. Their paper is photo paper and the finished product has a gloss to it–shimmery, just like real gold, right? You can usually print an 8×10″ photo for less than $3 and you can even do it in your pajamas and they’ll deliver it to your door. Does it get any easier or cheaper or gold-er than that?
Happy Friday, friends!
